Foreword
E. E. Ball, Prindi>ai
Since this Year Book marks the opening of the career of a new Collegiate Institute building in Collingwood, the students and staff extend greetings to all those who so nobly worked for the fulfilment of that long-cherished dream. We waited long, but not in vain, and the result was worth waiting for. We feel that we have been given a trust that is ours to use for the best and highest ends. Here must be no room for selfishness, for idleness, for carelessness, for any of the tendencies, arising from the weakness of human nature, that would keep us from using to the utmost that which has been entrusted to us. The improve~ ment .of ourselves and our associates, and th~ development of that abundant life that marks the real man and woman, must ever be our aim.
From the students and staff, therefore, whose good fOl'~ tune it has been to take part in this great change in the life of the C. C. I., this Year Book goes forth as a greeting and a pledge. The duty is ours to fulfil in our time, and to pass on to our suc- cessors.
