By Abednego and Algernon
Now behold there was once a School, and in this school there was a boy. Now verily this Boy was Bash- ful. From henceforth he shall be lmown as the Bashful Boy. Now the Boy did work hard and study most industriously and did do his home- work in order that he might find
favor in the eyes of the examiners in June.
Now lo, there did sit near the Bashful Boy one who was Blonde. And verily, she did giggle most ill· dustriously so that she came to bt called the "Giggling Gurl". Now the Bashful Boy was wroth with the Giggling Gurl and did draw fort h his compass from his Geometry set and did make tlie Giggling Gurl sque!d but she did only giggle the more.
Now the Bashful Boy looked at thb Giggling Gurl and he saw that her eyes were blue as the skies and her hair was curly and behold he did say, "I did not know that her eyes were so blue and I did not know that her hair was curly."
And he did thereupon immediate- ly forget his studies and did speak to the Giggling Gurl. And she did giggle but the Bashful Boy did no longer notice it.
Now time went on and the Bash- ful Boy dirl take the Giggling Gurl to the Hockey Match and did take her to many other places and verily they were happy.
But lo,·there C?-me aDay and An- other One and the Giggling Gurl did look at the Other One and Lo, his hair was curly and she did like him. And the Other One did date her up many times. And · Lo, the Bashful Boy did ask the Giggling Gurl to go to the Cadet Dance and she did im- mediately begin to make excuses. And she did say;. ''l'm tired."
Now behold the Bashful Boy be- c•ame suspicious and he did go to the house of the Giggling Gurl one night. Now he did look in the window, and
there on the chesterfield was the Other One. And Lo, beside him sat the Giggling Gurl. Now the Bashful Boy was wrtofh and . exceedingly angry, and truly he did lie in wait for the Other One. Now at about 11.30 he heard the voice of the fath- er of the Giggling Gurl yell down- stairs and Lo the voice said, "Say, you big hunk of ham, get out, we close at 11.30" and Lo, the Other One left immediately and in great haste.
Now the Bashful Boy did walk up to the Other One and did say to him. "Friend, whence is the reason for thy great haste?' And Lo, the Other One replied, "Go thy way, thou vil- lian." And verily the Bashful Boy was sorely vexed and he did closE his fist and verily he did belabor thE Other One and right merrily did hE sock him on the jaw. And great wa., the fall thereof.
Now the Bashful Boy did again return to his studies and would not da.te the Giggling Gurl any more. Now truly he did become sore vexed when she giggled and did move his seat to the back where he could work i n pe::~ce. A n d l o , h e d i d s a y u n t o

WHERE?
·
Oh, where! oh! where has my or- chestra gone, oh where? can it be? is the theme of this ·paragraph. Two years ago the C.C.I. on all gala occa- sions sported an orchestra of which every student was justly·proud. But this year there was only . on"e open meeting of the Literary Society when even an imitation could be has- tily gathered together. Now just where is the trouble. There are plen- ty of musicians, Mrs. Ellis is willing· to direct the ·organization·, ' Mr. At-· kinson is solidly behind it-now what more do you want. Let's get together and get the orchestra on its feet again.
