THE COACHES
In a recent edition of MacLean's Magazine. a sports writer! Roxbor- c.ugh, states that the phenomenal success of such teams as the Ham- ilton Tigers, The Reginas, and the Edmonton Grads Basketball team is due almost entirely to coaching. Thi~ is no ·exaggeration and in their own class, C. C. I. teams during 1931 bear this out. Coach L. J. Stapleton who coached senior and junior, Basket- ball and Football teams, which won all the District championships, was the man behind the wheel to whom the credit should go. It is not mere coincidence that the four teams came out on top. The boys them- selves will tell you if asked, that coaching did it.
Similarly, four or five years ago the C.C.I. entered in Track meets and seldom won any events. The ad- vent of our track coach, E. H. Rey- nol_ds, changed all this. Mr. Reynolds bmlt up an interest in Track and Field ~1y10rts ar1d within two years the Track Teams were dominating the District Meet held in Barrie. This is the more remarkable since our school
is one of the smallest main schools entering.
