The lake lies silent and still
And moonbeams playing 0.' er the grass Drink in their dewy fill.
The loon calls o! er- the moon-steeped lake And far across on the other shore
The deer slips through the birch ' and fir And then disappears ' forever more.
The murmuring trees cast their shadows O'er lake and bewitched rill "
And t~rough the pines so very tall
The moon slips o'er the hill.
Muskoka in the moonlight
With her lakes and forests deep EnChanted dreamland of the north Her memory you'll cherish and keep.
