iiTHE PINE TREE is VIE\lil
Atop the crest of a steep cliff
A lonely pine tree stately stands. It looks upon the world below
As a King looks o'er his lands.
Down below to the jutting rocks Three hundred yards he glanced.
The waves rushed madly to and fro, Like mighty horses they did prance .
He raised his boughs, and to the west He looked. The day was bright and fcir The earth below was shrouded green.
And seagulls circled through the air.
To the north, and to the south, And to the east and west also;
He saw the world in perfect peace, All were friends; more were foe.
