"The Pestilence"
When you hear the clump of heavy feet,
And piercing shrieks that fill the air; When teachers mutter their defeat,
You know "the Pestilence" was there.
When solid walls begin to shiver, Chalk and debris fly about,
And teachers' nerves are all a-quiver It was "the Pestilence"--no doubt.
There's no plague like It, is my belief; Some people say that It's not well;
Teachers heave a sigh of relief,
When comes 3:30 and the final bell.
And then the school is bathed in peace; "The Pestilence" went home you see.
The racket that It made has ceased; Gone "the Pestilence"--llD.
