The Curr'ent Affairs Club is a new organization which was fvrmed at the C& D. C. I. this yearo Early in Sept ember, Mr. Jo Connell asked t ne students who were int erested in forming this type of club to meet in Room 2:.?.4 during Activity Period. Mro Wo Jo Schneider showed the col oured pic.tures that he took ,.,hi:e on his trip from Toronto to Vancouver two years ago.
At another meeting, coloured pictures of the coun~ries of Aden, India and Ethiopia wer.e shown and commented on by Nro J~ Richero
A debate on the C. Bu C~, Radio and Television, w·as conducted at one of" the meet~ ings.
Dr. R. E., Ives of Stayner- showed interesting coloured pictures of plants~ fungi and birdsQ These pictQres revealed the ~ny beauties of Simcoe County to the room~ ful of $tudents who were presento
On Jan. 8, 1957 movies on Iceland and the Falkland Islands were shown. Mr. D. · W. Murray commented on his experience5 in Iceland between the showing of' the films.
Mr. J. Connell showed coloured slide~ on Jc..m:ary 22nd and 24th. These showed the progress on the Sto lAwrence and the Seaway Deve~opmentQ
During the snnmer Keith Ritchie a.nd Murray Skinkle toured v.estern Canada .:w, United States and brought back many execellent pictures, which they showed on Feb. 5th and 12th.
On Feb. 19th coloured films were shown on the Heb~ew and Christian Re~igions.
Mr. Roger Watson of St.ayner showed colour-ed pl.ct~cres of Fl orida on MGrc:h 5th.
After the Easter holidays a. coloured moYie 1-ras show:"lo It. featured a bus tour across the United States and wae: extremely interesting~
Then Mro Spencley gav-e a talk on his experiences as a ve'teran and prisoner of war in Hong Kong and Japan during the last w&ro
