In September, 1958, the Agriculture Building was opened for regularly scheduled classes. Several projects have been carried out with success. Grade X students completed the interior of the poultry run and helped to construct a concrete walk. Grade IX students took advantage of the flock of fifty laying hens and spent several periods observing proper poultry management practices. They also helped prepare some birds for the school cafeteria.
Every student in agriculture had the opportunity to plant a pot of bulbs which were "forced" for an out-of-season flowering time. The future looks bright with the prospect of establishing a school weather station and a hive of bees.
Probably the most popular phrase at the "barn" has been: "Oh, what a smell!"
