C.D.C.I. SALUTES-
ELAINE CAIRNS, the winner of the Apple Pie Contest at the Great Northern Exhibition in October.
KATHERINE AND ANNA WEIDER, winners of the Downhill and Slalom at the Ontario Ski Competitions.
This year has proved to be a more successful one in our school assemblies. Once a week, during the first period, the classes meet in the auditorium to enjoy a period that has not only proved entertaining but enlightening also.
The band, led by Mr. Knights has provided many moments of relaxation by bringing to us some of their much practised selections. Among the visitors to the assemblies have been the Davies, a family of well known singers who have toured through many high schools. The school teams such as football and basketball have been introduced to arouse the enthusiasT of their schoolmates. Some of the classes have participated and shown us much of their hitherto unknown talent by putting on plays and skits, much to the enjoyment of the rest of the school.
A special word of recognition goes out to the members of the I.S.C.F. who have been faithful in beginning the assemblies with the reading of the Scripture and leading in the Lord's prayer.
The assembIies have provided humour, entertainment1 sporting news and serious thought for the schoo I and it is hoped that the schoo I has benefited from them. .
