Principal's Foreward
I
It is perhaps rash to write--early in February--that the school year 1964-65 was quiet and peaceful. So far, however, no building programmes, no drastic curricular changes, no local calamities have disturbed us. There has been peace.
You who are in high school today have lived through most of the twenty years following the Second World War. During all of these years, one of the chief concerns of mankind has been the search for peace. Yet many speakers and writers talk as if the world were in hopeless chaos. So involved are we all in the inevitable uncertainties of daily life that we often fail to realize we actually do have peace. It is only when we compare the future which the present high school student can reasonably expect, twenty years after the Second World War,with the troubles that lay ahead of the young people in 1938, twenty years after the First World War, that we begin to appreciate how good the present times really are.
