G.B.S.S.A. junior Volleyball

The Junior Girls Volleyball team had a highly successful season. Having defeated Stayner in many of their exhibition matches, they went on to
win the championship of this district. The victory made them eligible for the tournament held in Orillia to determine the Central Ontario Semi- Finalists.
Here the girls showed great team spirit and co-ordination as they defeated their opponents, including Barrie North. In these games, Elaine Paton, was the main point-getter, while Linda Lavers and Sheila Stephens both excelled in''high'' volleys that fooled the other teams.
Victorious in the Semi-Finals, the team travelled to Midland where they played Camp Borden. The game was very close, with each team taking turns in the lead, but when the final buzzer sounded, to our dismay, Borden was two points ahead.
Nevertheless, the Junior Girls V olleyball team did a good job at upholding the honour of the c.c.r.
