Student's Council
Girl's President Boy's President
By - Sharon Smith Doug Baird
The first business of the 1965-66 Student Council was the appointing of Mr. Smith as General Staff Advisor and Mr. Freudeman as Financial Advisor, and also, upon the recom- mendation of the Commercial Department , the appointing of Ellen Hammill as Secretary. and Dave Lunan as Treasurer.
This year the Student Cards which were sold differed from those of previous years in that they bore a picture of the student in the upper corner. These cards are far more attractive than the old cards and the picture makes them more efficient. A card entitled the owner to free admission to school sports events , and reduced rates at school dances, and the local theatre.
Due to the efficiency of our Gleaner editor. Deborah Worrad, and her hard-working staff. this report had to be completed before many of our present plans have had a chance to be put into effect, and while many of our future ideas are still in the planning stages . The selling of school sweaters, crests, and pins are just a few of these.
Plans are now being made for a "Variety Night", perhaps along the lines of the extremely successful one held last year. Some of the money raised on this production and others will be used to provide items which will benefit the students, such as the Skinkle shields for high standing in the Commercial Department.
The Executive would like to thank Mr. Smith and Mr. Freudeman for the great help they have been to us, and to thank also the class represent- atives for their help and co-operation through- out the year.
