P. 41

Like a thief in the night, Death approaches.
He claims his victim
Without warning.
Never to think of those left in mourning.
He shocks the world,
It was dark
He knew not whence he came
No, nor for that matter, anything. Why?
It was not clear
Confusion wrought his mind to panic Hysterically screaming remember, recall Nothing.
Find something
Ah, a thread of reason, an answer No, it has flown again from him Why?
Junior Poetry
Junior First FREEDOM Sue Scott
She walked slowly,
Aimlessly;
The breeze tugged at her playfully.
Suddenly , she was walking no longer
But running, faster and faster
Till she was tearing down a hill
And flinging herself into the deep soft grass .
Then she was on a rock.
The waves clashing and pressing against her. The spray stinging her eyes.
Water dripping from her hair,
Her clothes clinging to her
But she cared not.
Off on a ship,
She stood at the bow.
The wind whipped and tore all round; She felt like laughing---crying--- For she knew at last
What it was to be free.

DEATH
Colleen Geddes He leaves some sad,
He claims good, not only bad.
We cannot escape his clutching hand Nor can we really be free ,
For when death approaches
He gives no warning
He does not think of those left in mourning.
Junior Third
THE CRASH Nancy Mason
What happened?
He could neither hear, feel , nor move He felt as if he were tied to a cross. Help!
It is going
His life, his soul, ebb away with the tide The tide of life that goes on, regardless Nothing
It is gone.
