One of the posters advertising this year's edition of The Gleaner carried the slogan, "Memories are made of this."
All of us hurry through our youth, busy with today, im- patient for tomorrow, rarely giving yesterday a thought. As we grow older we begin to look back occasionally and we are amazed at how little we remember of what went on.
It is possible however that this year will always stand out in your m ind- Canada's Centennial Y ear, 1967. Certainly many who were young in 1897 remembered Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee for the rest of their lives.
If you take an active part in the Centennial functions which are available to you, and if you make an effort to develop within yourself the admiration and respect for Canada which it deserves, you should have numerous happy memories of 1966-67 to enjoy for years.
This book will help you to remember.
