PUBLIC SPEAKING
On behalf of the student body and the staffof CCI, it Is my pleasure to extend congratulations to both the junior and senior winners of the 1967. Public Speaking Contest. As usual, competition was quite keen In both divisions and our winners were certainly worthy of their victories.
The junior semi-finals were held on March first and from these our finalists were chosen. These were Susan Meads, Doug Vancise and Allan Bell.
The senior semi-finals were held on March second with L!ll!an Power, Heather Wright and Jim Bignell emerging as finalists.
Susan Meads won the junior dlvfslon and Heather Wright won the senior division when the finals were held on March third.
The following Monday all finalist speakers were the dinner gnests of the local Lion's Club. On a full stomach they delivered their speeches once more and Heather Wright and Jim Bignell were chosen as girl's and boy's winners respectively.
The judges of the competition should be highly commended forĀ· the fine job they performed. They certainly deserve some recognition.
