BOARD MESSAGE
Once again it is my pleasure to extend greetings on behalf of the Simcoe County Board of Education to the students and staff of the Collingwood Collegiate and in particular to the hard-working staff of the 1972 Gleaner.
The Board is primarily a policy-setting body. These policies are directly related to the objectives and goals for education arising from our state- . ment of purpose which is reproduced below was ~dopted in 1969, our firsb year of ope:t:ation.
"The Simcoe County Board of Education will strive to make readily avail- able to each pupil within its jurisdiction the best education that the people of this county can and will support, so that the full potential capacity of
each individual may be realized. This entails the provision of flexible facilities and programs, curricular and co-curricular, that offer a broad background adaptedto the requirements of pupils having varied interests, abilities and educational objectives and designed to produce graduates who will be well equipped to take their places as useful and happy, responsible citizens leading full lives in this constantly changing world society. 11
It is our sincere hope that all Board action, both past and future will be judged in relation to our statement of purpose.
On behalf of the Board, I wish each student every success in this schooling and all future endeavours.
