  FRIDA Y , DECEMBER 17, 1971
I take my seat at nine a. m. Then daydream through the day. Whenever teachers question me, I don't know what to say.
I find my room in this big school, I wander to my seat.
But while the class is going on
I ponder at my feet.
I try to do the work they give, I try to do my best.
But zero is the only mark They'll give me on a test.
Oh, I'm a whiz at basketball,
Like volleyball and track,
But when it comes to books and notes, You1ll find me a little slack.
I've spent ten years at C. C. I.
All the teachers know my name.
I know there's probably better ways To reach your height in fame.
Some day I'll give them all a shock,
I'll change my lazy ways.
I'll do the work, I'll watch the teach 1 1
And end up with straight A s.
