A Dedication
This book is dedicated to the memory of Bert Selles, art teacher, counsellor and friend of many students ofC.C.l. He died suddenly and tragically on June 11, 1972. This poem, written by one of Bert's students, expresses the great sense of loss felt by all who knew him.
Life is fleeting
Moments in passing, Bubbles floating
In the air
Only to burst,
And have no one really care.
YOU lived your
Life
As full as could be
And granted you 'didn't agree With some of us,
(That must include also me)...but You were a good man,
A shiny delicate bubble,
With so much beauty
To offer the world And so little time To share.
And we,
Who knew the you,
Behind the beard
Knew you were just a boy Only such a young boy, Trying,
Making mistakes, but learning Changing
For the better
Every day
And helping those you could How you could.
And we all are
A bit lesser
For the loss of you.
