A school is made up qf people . People who differ as greatly in educational and social background as they do in irltellectual abilities. One writer succinctly referred to education
as a "mouse race" to prepafe people for the future "rat race". ln a way this is probably true, for we are constantly meetirg deadlines, solving personal problems, confronting authority, and having fun.
A school gains its repltation and character from those who are part of its life. You have had the opportunity ojf being exposed to one of the most professional faculties in Ontario. Teachers who areJnterested in you as individuals. Teachers who are individuals in their own right, able to ring new ideas and interests to the classroom as well as to the many extra-curricular areal of the school. You owe them a debt..A debt which can be repaid by spending some o your time to help others.
Each of you will reta ·n some special memory from this year . My memories will include a student body whfh was enthusiastic and responsible. I have watched with pride the development of i dividuals at our school. No matter where your travels take you from here, you will al ays be a part of this school. Whatever you do in the years to come, do it well--for you h ve been a member ofC.C.I.
