 ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Webster defines a yearbook as a "book published yearly as a report or summary of the statistics or facts". It cannot be denied that the "Gleaner" is such a resume of facts about Collingwood Collegiate Institute, of both the students and teachers who attended the school for this school year, 1974-75.
In truth it is much more than that, because it is a personal collection of facts and events which for each individual student have a special meaning. We hope that these pages recall a challenging, inspiring and active year at CCI. In this way we also hope the "Gleaner" goes beyond the dictionary definition and is not
merely a yearbook, but your yearbook.
It takes a great deal of time and patience to put a yearbook together and
without the help of several people this book woukl not be as great as it is.
My special thanks is extended to Karen Pollard who was ready and willing at all times to work. She also put forth some words of wisdom which always made
us laugh in times of need.
Mr. Sneyd, our staff advisor, was the man in charge of everything this year.
Thanks to him for aiding us in putting this yearbook together smoothly and effectively.
Special reooqnition goes to Mr. Truscott and the canvassers for bringing in large quantities of money, Mr. Fogg and Mr. Kilgour and the photographers for supplying us with the pictures desired, Mr. Traynor and the homeform representatives for selling the books, Mr. Dykstra for looking after our money, and Miss Szurbert and Mr. Seidle for offering assistance when problems arose. Mr. Pilon and John Chastven should be congratulated for producing the fine art work in the teachers section. We hope that it provided you with a few laughs.
. . . To begin the yearbook is one good accomplishment, BUT to see the finished result is even better!
