Senior Girls' Basketball Finish First in
Regular Season Play
Janet Pearen
C.C.I. Sr. Girls Basketball Team.
The season of '77 should stand out as a great victory for the Senior Girls. Never in the history of our career have we performed so well. Due to vast improvement in all areas we were able to attain that desired 1st place position in regular seasonal play. Although Henri attri- butes our strength to the "important calisthentics" Guy "contradictingly" adds... "No it was definitely the 'rope jumping'." We not only improved our sportsmanship but also gained the knowledge that "Basketball is a 'round' game".
We entered the zone playoffs very well prepared, winning the tournament in Penetang and playing in many other championship games. However, the morning of
our 'final' game, our sugar tablets ran out and by late evening, we all needed energy transplants. Eastview, the team we had previously beaten, rdieved us of our posi- tion and represented the zone in GBSSA action.
Thanks coaches and comrades for the best season, the best time, the most memories we ever had.
