Prefects
These are your Prefects
Well known to all,
We wear golden sweaters
and hang out in the halls.
We disturb all the lunches
and break up the brawls...
and scrape gucky wrappers from tables and walls. On Fridays we go to the book place and sit
and mess up the files for dear L'il Miss Smith, We crash all the dances
(For the sake of peace)
And kick out the Rowdies
(And those "ill at ease".)
A few names you'll recall,
Like the Hammer, our lead,
And Norma and Frankee; of course l'il Swede, And still there's lots more...
Like the Pollock or Dunn -
(True "toughies" of C-ville)
I know 'cuz I's one.
But we're all kept in line
By a true blue hot-handler,
That 'fella' of course
is Mr. "CHEASELY" Chandler.
The Prefect Organization is a group of approximately forty (40) Senior students, which, in many respects; acts as a liaison between the administration and the student body. This year, lunch hour hall supervision was added to our normal cafeteria and library duties.
Working in co-operation with the Students' Council, the Prefects also help to supervise dances, movie nights and any other social functions of the Council.
The Head Prefects were Jane Aldridge and Dave Hanrahan.
We had a lot of 'good times' that outweighed the 'ill at ease' and "gucky wrapper" situations by far.
