BOYS' VOLLEYBALL
JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL MOUNT AINEERS
This year's edition of the Junior Mountaineers was com- prised of the following players: Dave McLean, Andy Chalmers, Doug Wilson, Roberto Niro, Russ Graham, Sean Molloy, Roy Schreyer, Nick Miller, Don Ritchie and Gord Paul. The team was coached by Mr. Dave Chandler.
The team finished in second place during the regular schedule and proceeded to the Zone finals, where they were ultimately eliminated.
The highlight of the year occurred in the Barrie Central Annual Redskin Invitational Tournament where the Moun- taineers finished the round robin in first place, and lost the championship final, two games to one to Barrie Central.
Next year four Mountaineers will return to compete at the Junior level while six will move up to the Senior Stingers. Good Luck.
Unfortunately there is no team picture.
This year, the Boys' Midget Volleyball Team was young and inexperienced. The games in which they played were relatively close and were very exciting. An excellent effort was shown by this young team.
Midget Volleyball: Steve Davidson, Bill Ironside, Cam Grant, Paul VanBoxmeer, Stewart Clarke, Geoff Timpson, Gary Hawton, Dave Kerr, John Liotta, Bud Balloi, Steve McKean, Mr. Spears.
Senior Volleyball: Mr. Holton, Robert Grahm, Frank Dipeitro, Dave Hodgins, Jeff Hansen, Steve Butters, Rick Kosierb, Rob Kaat, Mark Duffin, Craig Doyle.
The 1978 edition of the Sting- ers worked hard both in their games and practices. If dedica- tion is an indicator of a team's calibre, then the STINGERS are truly "Number One".
The Senior "Stingers" almost came home with the zone championship this year. Central defeated the team in the finals held in Barrie.
