        FRENCH INTERFACE
CCI became involved for the first time this year in a series of bilingual trips to Quebec. Twenty eight girls, mostly from grades 11, 12 and 13 and three boys, ac- companied by Mr. Beckett and family, went to St. Donat, eighty miles north of Montreal, for five days of French immersion. They had classes in local history and geography and winter and wilderness survival, all in French, and practical application of the skills and knowledge acquired . There was snowshoeing, orienteering, cross-country and downhill skiing, all "en francais." The evenings were full - entertain- ment, broomball, carnival events (tug o' war, log- sawing, tobogganing) and, on the final one, a talent night with bonuses and CCI finished joint first. The general opinion - When do we go next year?
