CLOSING OF THE SHIPYARDS
On September 12, 1986, Collingwood witnessed the end of an era as the Collingwood Shipyards closed its doors after one hundred and three years in business as one of Canada's finest shipyards.
For many years C.C.I. shared a close relationship with the yard -- from touring the facilities and playing at the side launches to receiving scholarship funds.
We will truly miss the familiar sight of ships and the landmark that has been so important a part of Collingwood's history.
