For some reason, each of us seems to feel a need to retain some-
thing from the past. Perhaps it is a sense of nostalgia, for when we look at this souvenir, we im- mediately allow our thoughts to go back to a particular time, place or event in our lives . Maybe it is a photograph of us on the championship team or the corsage that we dried after retur- ning home from the Spring Prom . Maybe it is the Com- mencement program in which our name was printed or the ticket stub that got us into the Stratford _play with our English class. We might have even sav- ed all of these items, and what makes them so special is that they have so much value to us, and us alone. That makes each
