Statistics have shown us that the two most expensive purchases that we will ever make during our lives are: 1. buying a house and 2. a car. However, when one considers that the average student spends $6000 to $8000 yearly , we should add the cost of a post-secondary education to that list.
The reasons for choosing a particular college or university vary with the individual, but in all cases a great deal of thought goes into this decision. Kelly Wilson anticipates going to Wilfrid Laurier Un. because of its small size while Esther Miles hopes to be accepted at bil- ingual Un. of Ottawa as a language student. Heather Vamplew too is considering this same university because it is the only school to offer a Bach. of Social Science programme. What a better place to study political science than in our nation's capital! Debbie Scott has her sights set on the Un. of Waterloo because of its excellent math program while Lorna Boyes is considering Georgian College because of its close vacinity to home. Conestoga College might be the future location of Bob Hewitt because it offers a great sports complex. On the other hand, David Fryer hopes to further his education at Humber College. This C.C.I. grad wants to pursue a career in Law Enforce- ment at this location.
Whether its Derik Muirhead applying to Canador College for his pilot's licence or
Marci Bearance heading out west to the
Un. of British Columbia, their advice is
the same. This is a very expensive, im- portant decision so make sure you CHECK IT OUT!
