On Wednesday February 13. 1991. at 5:00a.m.. twenty- seven C.C.I. students left for St. Donat. Quebec on a five ยท day French Immersion trip. After a long bus ride. with our bus breaking down for an hour just outside of Kingston. we arrived at the hotel at 4:30. That night we all went out- side to the Carnival. we played different games such as tug-of-war. and ice hockey. During the next four days we spoke only french (at least we were supposed to!). attend- ed classes. and participated in some of the best skiing ever. During our skiing we had a small group photo taken (Middle Right) in the Top Row: Sarah Makin, Carlie Sharp, Shelley Hurst. and Leeann Barr. Middle Row: Tracy Sneyd and Jen Weis. Front: Jodie Blakeman. We skiied for two half days and one full day (with -22 degree weather). we snowshoed through a bush and swamp as well as across a lake. We all seemed to master the art of snowshoeing
pretty quickly except for Doug Czerny (Above) who I found taking his snowshoes off to climb this hill. During our evenings we mingled with the other students from stratford to New Hampshire. One night we all got together and had a lip sync contest where Collingwood won first place. (Top Rt.): Lorrie McQuarrie and Tracy Sneyd displayed their talents at spoon-playing and later. Melissa Kern. Sarah Makin. and Jen Weis sang "The Banana Boat Song". We all had a great time even though Jen Bird strained ligaments in her leg, Tara Smith hit her head on a rock (in the same spot where Jen fell). Shonia Death and Jodie Blakeman were sick. But we would all still go back!!- Krista Nell
