High school involves a great deal of work both in and out of class. Add a dashful of patience and a heaping handful of skill along with a good accumulation of previously learned material and the result is a good ba- sis for what one will choose for a future career. There is no doubt that this is serious business. However, school is more than this aspect. At the end of a hard week, many stu- dents can sit back and take pride in their ac- complishments - a perfect test, a well written essay, or perhaps a theory that was finally understood. Sometimes just knowing that you made a fellow student or teacher smile, makes one feel really good. As important as education is, it is equally important to be able to look around at life and smile. A friend's laugh is a wonderful sound!
Some people are masters at getting those around them to crack up without ever intend- ing this to happen. Take Angie McFarlane and Melissa Dunbar, for example. They were both innocently sitting in Art class and Angie turned to pull the drapes. However, they all came right down! So much for the seriousness of Art class that period! Matthew Wagner delights in recalling the time his brother, Mark, accidently walked into the girl's change room right after gym period. "All of the girls were screaming! So was Mark!" Tyler Spies thought that he had a few smiling when he accidently forgot his lines at the Christmas assembly. He knows that he had everyone smiling when he de- cided to wear shop glasses in his school pic- ture! Everyone has a different method of getting people to smile. For Deb Fitzsim- mons, it simply takes her to start singing, " Smile, Darn Va, Smile! " . " It works all of the time!"
As each person looks back on the 1991-92 school year , it is hoped that all attained some pride in their academic achievements as they attempted to 'TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT'. As they review the events that shaped the past 365 days, may they bring a smile to each face!
