On Tuesday; December 3rd, C.C.1. followed what has prac- tically become a tradition at the school. Staff and students were given an early Christmas present - a SNOW DAYI You rolled over to shut off that 6:30 alarm and heard John Nichol's familiar voice annoucing that all Area 4 buses were cancelled for the day due to hazardous driving conditions. Maybe you shut the alarm off before CKCS even got to air its' cancel- lation list. Whatever the case, quite a few students could still be seen in their first period classes. Gavin Boutet admitted that he had not heard that the day was a bone fide SNOW DAY until his arrival at school. He was defintely going to stay because "if I go home, I'll just have to work!" Doug Ward also had no idea until he noticed few students in the halls at 8:30. Was this enthusiastic student going to stay and com- plete some additional work? "No, I'm going back home and listen to some really loud music!" Nicole Surridge too failed to hear the radio report. However, after making the cold walk to school, she wasn't about to turn around and go back home. "I think that I'll stay for 1/2 day and then I can get a ride home!" Don Bowden knew that the buses were cancelled, but still came "because I love school. I love the challenge of learning!" Brad Rawn, another keen scholar, also arrived on a Snow Day "because I am an OAC and I know how im- portant it is to stay", he commented while bouncing a tennis ball. Kim Wilson was completely honest and stated, "I came today because my dad made me!" Kevin Robitaille didn't really mean to come to school when the buses were can-
