The 1992 Junior Football season was unique in many ways: the cool summer continued into the fall forc- ing us to practice in mid-October in the snow; Holly Thompson became the first girl on our team; in our first game a player came off the opposing bench to tackle Aaron Trowbridge, who was home free; we didn't make the playoffs. This did not mean we were a weak team: we were compet-
itive in every game and finished fifth overall.
The veteran players demonstrated great leadership and set high stan- dards of skill, spirit, and sportsman- ship for the rookies. The new team members progressed and next season promises to be extremely competitive.
This year's football awards were won by: The Robertson-Titus A ward of Excellence - Aaron Trowbridge and
Marcus Robinson; Offensive Back- field A ward- Neil Lavers; Offensive Line A ward- Ben MacLean; Defen- sive Backfield A ward- Steve Howard and Brad Synott; Defensive Line A ward - Ron Higdon; Skill, Spirit & Sportsmanship A ward- Tyler Spies; and The Most Improved Player - Ja- son Lang And Brendan Wypich.
