      RECREATIONAL SKI CLUB
The Ski Club is an old tradition at C.C.I. and continues to be an outstanding endeavour. Over the years it has introduced thousands of students to the sport of recreational skiing at a reasonable cost.
Historically, about 40 years ago (early 50's), at the old C.C.I. (now Admiral Collingwood), Joso Weider, the founder ofBlue Mountain Ski Resorts, in his continuous efforts to promote recreational skiing in Collingwood, donated 6 pairs of skis to the then C.D.C.I. Ski Club. This increased the Club to 12 members and one staff
advisor (Mr. Ross Culbert). Today, this organ- ization boasts a membership of between 260-300 students and about 20 Staff Advisors and Assistants.
Activities include 6 weekly trips to Blue Mountain Ski Resorts on Tuesday afternoons, ski lessons, and a wind-up barbecue at Central Base Lodge. Treasure hunts, obstacle fun ra- ces and visits to other resorts have been enter- tained over the years. The Club would like to thank Staff Advisors Mr. Sproule, Mr. French, and Mr. Haiduk and the many staffbus super-
visors, the entire administrative and staff for theirsupportoftheprogramme,Mr.QQrdCan- ning and Blue Mountain Ski Resorts for mak- ing this programme affordable to the students, and finally, the Club members for their par- ticipation and cooperation. Again, thanks to everyone for a great ski season.
