1993-94 was the first year C.C.I. participated in the Simcoe County Trial Advocacy competition. Twelve schools entered; six took the crown side and six played the defence in the trial of The Queen versus Lapanza. The winner won the Gregory Thomas Evans tro- phy, named after the former chief justiceoftheSupremeCourtofOn- tario. Our "coach", and legal ad- visor, Mr. Brian McLellan, spent many hours with us in preparation for the contest which was held on
