The ALPINE SKI TEAM began dryland training long before the early November snows at Body Flex Gym to "ripple those abs and sculpt the quads." HIGHLIGHTS: Novice Girls- series of 1st & 2nd place finishes that dominated their level until the GB finals. Novice Boys - strong 4th place finish at OFSAA in the Giant Slalom. Level II Girls- 1st at GBSSA finals led by Jen Redding, but devastated by equipment failure in their " Quest for Gold" at OFSAA. Level II Boys -1st & 2nd place finishes all season cul- minate in silver medal for Slalom at OFSAA. Elite Level Ill Girls- Erin Flynn 2nd in Slalom & 4th in Giant Slalom at OFSAA. Wunderbar! Elite Level Ill Boys- Dave Campbell 1st at GB finals & 2nd at OFSAA in Giant Slalom, with Greg Flynn 3rd in Slalom. Wow!
The season ended with a banquet at the Swiss Alporn. The team wishes J.P. Trafford a speedy recovery from his serious ski accident this win- ter. A special note of thanks from the team goes
to retiring coach Henry Haiduk. Will you have any room for 28 skiiers next year at Whistler?
