oving up in the world
Commencement is an evening of mixed emotions. Grad- uates return to Collingwood Collegiate happily anticipat- ing a reunion with teachers and classmates. At the same time, however, friends may feel a little sad as they share one last hug before embarking on different career paths. Parents are filled with pride as they watch their son or daughter stride across the stage to receive their well- earned diploma, OAC certificate, and perhaps an award, bursary or scholarship. How quickly time passes.
This year saw the introduction of several new ideas that hopefully will become part of CCI tradition. Graduates don-
ned a black cap and gown with gold collar and received a photo of the entire class of '95 in a bound portfolio. Grads also wore a gold ribbon in remembrance of Robbie Poser, a former classmate. Janine Hogg and Astrid Thiesen , Mr. Mark Spencer and the CCI Concert Band, and No Non- sense provided special music for the evening. We salute our grads of '95 as they continue with college, university, the world of work, or travel. The days of black and gold have ended, but won't be forgotten.
