My observations were a little girl who sucked her thumb and carried a blanky, she
moved through public school shyly and approached CCI hesitantly. She learned to struggle with English, love athletics and music, cope with math and begin to enjoy the sciences. Along the way she also observed many of you - my fellow classmates - accomplished similar skills, through hard work and determination.
The observation of most significance was my classmates and I learned to ask ques- tions! My teachers and friends know I learned this skill a little too well. The teachers here at CCI unfailingly strive to answer our questions, stimulate our minds and chal- lenge the students in all areas of education, music, and athletics. For your dedica- tion and commitment, we the graduates , thank each one of the staff at CCI. A number of us have been influenced by you individually and you will always live in our ad- miration and memories. We have grown!!! We developed close friendships, a res- pect for our minds, bodies and environment, and a keen interest in further education or workplace challenges. We grew intellectually and emotionally as individuals and became less dependant on others. We learned to problem solve, make our own de- cisions and set our own values. Therefore, I believe through the education from our teachers, families and community, our minds truly have opened. We are ready to move on. Let us take our valuable preparation and continue in our travels to meet the challenges of the future. We may fall or stumble from time to time, but as Con- fucius said , " Our greatest glory is not in never falling bur rising every time we fall. " With the knowledge and confidence we have found here in the halls and classrooms of CCI, we will meet the new Millennium-- Year 2000 with strength, courage, and open minds. We're grateful for the beginnings bestowed on us by our families, friends, teachers and community. Thank you fellow classmates for the opportunity to speak this evening. I encourage you to continue this experiment throughout life making your observations and conclusions with an open mind. My memories of you and our good times at CCI will be cherished. I leave you this evening with one request, al- ways remember and abide by the acronym on my favourite hat! RYGHT NOW. REACH FOR YOUR GOALS HOWEVER TOUGH NUMEROUS OPPORTUNITIES WAIT RYGHT NOW!"
