Through their efforts, they have made the staff + students more aware of the need to recycle. Member·s of the team are: Mrs. Tofano, Josh Edwards, Michel Parizeau, Betty Taylor, (ABS) Nathan Nichol +Jonathan Rite.The competition was stiff as each team was determined to even the annual C.C.I. I S.C. I. Bowling Tournament.The scores were carefully tabulated while Mrs Nuttley presented each person with a cer·ti ficate. Aft.er a 3 year absence, C.C. I. ·,;as victorious in bringing the trophy home. "GAIA" is t.he name of our school's environment club, led by Scott Ladouceur, Marg.:t.r·ette Fraser, +S1q : tt Helmer .Thru GAIA, students have been
interested in making a difference in environment issues.GAIA, standing for Green Action Initiatives Alliance helps raise funds by selling environmental t-shirts,GAIA members planted several hundred dollars worth of perennial plants and shrubs in the gardens outside the school's administrative wing.T- shir·ts were sold by G.!>.IA members.On Earth Day,GAIA helps organize environmental-awareness pt·ograms.Mr. Knox + Mr. Edwar·ds have led day- long Bruce Trail walks for interesr.ed students.Mr . Hunwicks has raised funds for W<:>rld Wildlife by organizing CN Tower stair· climbs.The White Ribbon Campaign, (ABOVE) organized by Nirupama Somayajula, made t.he public aware of the violence against women.
