           X-Country Team heads to OFSAA and Badminton creates a
racquet with their medals.
uring the 1998 Badminton season, the team (MID D CENTRE) was very busy with the sport that every-
one loves. In regional competition, CCI fielded 24 players in various divisions and earned 21 medals.
Way to go and what's all the racquet about anyway? In all,
they snagged 9 gold medals, 6 silver and 6 bronze. Gold meda- lists were Bill Lloyd in Jr.Singles, Jen McKay in Sr. Singles, Corey Hare/ Michelle Trombley in Sr. Mixed and Bethrume Holbrook/ Erin Shaw and Jacob Carr/ Matt Campbell in Jr. Doubles. Silver Medalists were Lindsay Jungkind/ Kristie Brown in Jr. Doubles, Anne Hogarth! Courtney Crawford in Sr. Doubles and Josh Moore/ Jason Hildebrant in Jr. Doubles. Bronze Medalists were Justin Corriveau! Tiffany Thompson in Sr. Mixed, Kristen Reid and Gil Ralston in Sr. Singles and Darryl Kemsley/ Jay Campbell in Sr. Doubl.es. As of this writing, the 1999 team's season is still in progress. Members of the team (MID LT) are Jenna Barr, Jessica Breitenfeld, Step- hanie Bevan, Kristen Bevan, Kristic Broun, Jennifer Buic, Courtney Crawford, Jen Faber, Candace Hare, Beth-Anne Holbrook, Lauren Jackson, Jorume Peddle, Lindsay Jungkind, Katie Lloyd, Jen McKay, Erin Shaw, Yolanda Shea, Jen Small, Tiffany Thompson, Michelle Trembley and Cheryl Kemsley. The Boys Badminton Team (TOP LT) members were: Matt Campbel~ Jacob Carr, Aaron Douglas, Cory Hare, Darryl
Kemsley, Craig Lavers, Mike Liotta, Bill Lloyd, Trevor Mc- Carl, Warren McGregor, Josh Moore, Preston Pegg, Jean- Paul Trafford, Billy Trude, Craig Underwood, Dan Young, Mark McCarl, Gil Ralston, Brandon Shute and Andrew Comly. This year's Cross- Country Team (BOT LT) was srnaa but mighty during what was an unusual season. They practiced diligently and were well prepared for the GBs held in Parry Sound. Tbe Owls performed very well with Jennifer Buic pacing the Mid- get Girl's Team to a 5th place finish. Team Members included Jenna Barr, Jennifer Baulke, Carling Ellis and Kate Walker. Jennifer's 4th place finished qualified her for the OFSAA Finals. Jessica Synnott also qualified for the All- Ontario Championship as a result o f her top- 10 finish. This result is
of note as it means that Jessica has qualified for OFSAA as a Midget, Junior and Senior runner. Other notable results in- cluded Mike Ritchie's 12th place finish in the Sr. Boy's race which was one place from moving on to OFSAA and Bill Horner's 14th place finish in the Midg<.>t Boy's race. Other members o f the team included Marisca Carruthers, Martha Car- ruthers, Allison Smith, Kyle Judges, Mike Ferguson, Steve Martin, Nathan Tosh, Jackie Morrill, Candace Hare and Jen Canning.
