Mr. Lou Allard retiredfrom the C.C./. stqffin June of 1999. When he wasn't in his science lab. Mr. Allard could be.{01md coaching the Cross-country Running Team or on the basketball court witlt.his boys teams. Hecouldbespoiledgivinghisexpertadvicetothe Curling Team or spending time witlt the Track Team. Upon leaving C.CJ. he takes with him manyfond memories. mo.ft{?(which occurred out,fide the classroom- the GB Championships, pranks on the buses and in pre-games and post- games.. the Jmu.mal game situations and the pride in watching his own
' children graduate from Collingwood Collegiate. He will always break out in /aug/Iter when he thinks o f the time that involved a final home game and the II'hole te'am showed up u·earii1g longjolmsfor their warm-up. One can be assured that Mr. Allard will not have a great deal offree time in his retirement as he (ooksfont•ard to working on many projects at his home and collage. lie also has many travel plans on the book:j to be taken when his wife retires. Mr. Fred Sproule
After 31 years in the teaching profession, Mr. Fred Sproule chose to retire in the millennium. A memher ofthe malh department. Mr. Sproule hadfound his years al Collingwood Collegiale to have been very personallyrewarding,fu((illingandexciling.Asa graduate o fCCI, he found it a wonderful opportunity to teach in his flometown q(ler spending hisj]rstlwq years teaching fi1 Sault Sie. Marie. He will miss the contact with the swdents in the classroom as well as in his various coachingand stqffadvisory• capacities. As a CCI Alumni. It's always with a sense ofloss that I say good-bye to retiring staff. This year is no different. As I consider the list ofindividuals leaving, I can't help, but consider the unique talents and skills which each ofthese teachers have usedfor the betterment ofstudents at CCI. In total, they represent over 160years ofteaching experience. I know that I speak on behalfofthe whole CCI community when I extend best wishes on your retirement. Ralph, Jim, Wayne, Fred, Lou and Gord- ENJOY- you've earned it!!!
