Thanksgiving means a gathering of family and friends for a turkey feast and giving of thanks for many blessings. As well, this holiday weekend also summons the return of graduates for Collingwood Collegiate's annual Commencement Exercises. Looking very mature and sophisticated after spending a few months at university, college or in the work force, the former senior students filled the new gym with excited squeals and yells. A great deal oftime was spent on catching up on news from former classmates while seriously attempting to get dressed in the traditional grad gown and cap. Finally the moment arrived as Mr. French called for order in assembling the individuals for the march into the old gym. A packed audience ofproud parents and a stage ofpresentors greeted them. After the scholarships and diplomas were handed out, a reception allowed for one last chance to reminise their days spent as a 'Fighting Owl'.
