And next, the FUTURE • In a world where globalization has increased so quickly and is ( continuing to grow, now, more than ever, we must anticipate what lies ahead. Although I
am a strong believer that one should never take a day of life for granted, at the same time, ~ I am of the opinion that it is necessary to look ahead in life. Our society no longer simply
consists of the people living in our town, our province, or our country. Instead, the entire world now has the ability to communicate, trade, and learn about other nations and other societies. The technology of the future is presenting global opportunity, but also, global competition has made an impact. Our abilities are being contested with so many others, therefore, a great deal of consideration is required from each of us to discover appropriate strategies for success while moving into the future.
FRIENDSHIP • Each graduate can look @ all the faces in the surrounding seats and appreciate the relationships that they have formed with one another. Some are acquaintances, others are best friends. Some you will never see again, and others you will never lose contact with. Take time to express your appreciation for the friends around you. Realize that you never truly miss someone until they are gone. To my friends, your company over the years has had a great influence in creating the person that 1am today. Thank you for caring, for your support, and for your constant enthusiasm. My memories aie fond and I only hope that my presence has added positively and humourously to your lives.
FUN • There is a time for work and there is a time for play. Some of us play a little bit more than we work, but hey now, we're responsible, we do have our priorities straight. To achieve best results though, one must be interested and enjoy the activity at hand. If you can create an exciting atmosphere, an enjoyable environment, a fun place to be, the desired level of success is much more attainable. At CCI, I found that Students' Council was fun, football was fun, involving myself with the school community was fun, and class was fun .... .. most of the time. Writing this speech was fun, commencement is fun, and tonight, after this fine ceremony has concluded, when the gowns come off and the hats have been tossed, my friends, we are going to have some fun!!!
Graduates, classmates, friends, it is our time to face the world. We have been taught
well. Now, to take what we have learned here@ CCI and apply it as we encounter new and exciting opportunities. We must not be afraid to be different. To not always follow the system. To believe in ourselves when others are doubtful. To never regret, only continue to learn. To be individuals, strong and confident. And to be able to look back at our high school days and say, "I did it my way".
Always love, for my friends, my family, and my father.
