There is a good reason why so many CCI students make the Honour Roll or bring home a multitude of school plaques and trophies. Walk down any hall- way or into any classroom and you would be hard- pressed not to find a student with a calculator or pen in hand and their head in a book. Each year, our school library checks out over 10,000 books from its inventory of over 12,000 books and periodicals. If the students aren't reading for an assignment, they read for enjoyment- everything from romance to mystery. The grade 9 students were introduced to the CCI world of books during Literacy Day. Not only did guest author, Paul Kropp, address them in an enter- taining assembly, they toured the library and hallway displays. If you think books aren't that popular, then what are you holding in your hands and reading right now??????!!!!!!
