The Double Co-hort year not only provided some difficulties for universities and colleges, but for the annual Collingwood Collegiate Institute Commencement exercises as well. How could one possibly fit twice as many family members and friends into an already packed gym? The answer was provided with having 2 graduation ceremonies. The first was for the grade 12 graduates of the new curriculum and the last one involved the final OAC graduates. The evening proved to be one of excitement. It was a chance for friends to meet once again, on their old stompin' grounds, and share memories and stories of their adventures since leaving CCI. It was an opportunity to don the black gown with the gold collar and walk across the stage to receive that coveted diploma. The programmes began with the introduction of guests and Kaylee Draper singing the national anthem. From then on, the night belonged to the graduates. Cameras continually flashed as proud parents captured the moment of their son or daughter receiving well-deserved recognition.
