DECA is an organisation of business minded students. We meet once a week to discuss fundraising, upcoming compitiions and practice for them. In compitition we compete in oral and written events where students have the opporunity to demonstrate their knowledge. This year CCI's DECA chapter took part in a leadership convention, the regional and provincial compititions. We are proud to say that Mary-Jane Winegarden placed 5th in her category at regionals and at provincials Courtney Wattie placed top 20 for Apparal and Acessories at the Associate Level and Amanda Wattie placed top
20 for Retail and Merchandising at the Management Level. All students, especially those with an interest in business are encouraged to join. Drama
Collingwood Collegiate's 2005 entry to the Sears Drama Destival was entitled Corvette Red. Once again we came away with top honours including Outstading Production. This is the third time in four years such honours have been garnered by our drama troupe. Corvette Red is essentially a collective creation - reseached, written and produced by both staff and students. It was a play about fiev women welders working at the Collingwood Shipyards during the Second World War and the struggles they encounter along the way. Corvette Red featured the outstanding talents of Matt Marshall, Mandy Coggan, Erin Plesa-Topham, Kathryn Livingstone, Alicia Principe, Leigh LePage, Tasha Stewart, Maddie Needles, Stewart Gentiles, Shawn Mathoney, AmandaBuchanan, Adam Gravel and Luke Gravel
