(ABOVE) Vice-President,Kelsey Cole and Year Two Rep,Mike Singh get ready to welcome the grade nine's to CCI at the first week of school assembly. (BEL) It could be a Hallowe'en cat walk or an election assembly , cheering on a friend as their hair is cut in ' Wigs For Kids ' or watching a battle of the bands. All agree that assemblies are great!
Remembrance Day? Wigs For Kids? The Ann JuneSlideShow? TheFirstWeekofSchool?Drinking and Driving? Each year, the staff and students of CCI are treated to a variety of assemblies. They are often fun such as a buy- in, but more common, they are
a very serious nature. Several grade 11 and 12 students viewed the 'June Slide Show' with Mr. Jones as Bosley in the CCI rendition of 'Kirby's Angels' as the mostpopularassemblyoftheyear. The 'Remembrance Day' gathering is noted for the respect shown by all in attendance. 'Wigs for Kids' draws huge support as the gym is filled with the laughter as Mr. B. Jones and Miss Howarth loose their pony tails in favour shorter hair. At the same time, we are reminded of the serious of cancer and how it touches each of us in some way. The senior members of CCI viewed the most boring assembly to be the grade assemblies that takeplaceduringthefirstweekofschoolinSeptember. Comments such as "We heard it all before" and "It was the same thing as the year before" were voiced. Why are assemblies so popular? There is the obvious- one gets out of class, but it is also a time to sit with your friends, learn about a topic or cause and hopefully, take a message back with you.
(LT) Dan Singhof cannot believe the amazing models featured in CCI's first ever halloween fashion show! (RT) Who will you vote for? Jordan McKee and Sam Martin smile for the camera while they decide who they will elect for Student Council at the 2005 Student Council Election.
