It Will Grant You A New Beginning
Mrs. Sharon Jaffray began her teaching career in 1977 at the age of
21 at Streei-svilleS.S. , after graduating from Un. of Toronto.
For the first few weeks she was often mistaken for a student and asked to stay out of teaching areas during classes! She spent 11 years teaching business and acting as staff advisor for the typing team, the practice office and cheerleading squad, before resigning after the
1irth of her 4th child. Not one to sit at home, Mrs. Jaffray spel)tthe 1ext six years supply teaching and taking LTO contracts before eturning full time. She began teaching English at Milton District H. I. in 1994 and decided to take on the yearbook. Four years later she witched back to her first love,.teaching business and running the chool store at M.M. Robinson H.S.in Burlington. She also dabbled njourn-alism as she began writing articles for the Hamilton lpectator Com-munity Column. At this time that the idea of moving o asaga Beach took shape, and 2 years later she and her family nade the transition. Mrs. Jaffray found the staff and students at CCI o be among the best. Her 6 years at CCI have gone quickly and she :herishes her many experiences. When considering what advice she night give to young people, Mrs. Jaffray recommends that students :ontinue learning. During her career she taught atJeast 12 different :ourses, and acquired 4 additional teaching qualifications. In retire- nent Mrs. Jaffray looks forward to traveling, x-country skiing,
liking and spending time with her family before starting on a new :areer adventure.
Mr. Ron Bracey is an 8 year veteran on staff at CCI and has always been known for his dry wit and ability to make everyone smile. Born in Mt. Forest, this special education teacher attended high school in Stathroy where he claims that he was good in everything- from sports to academics. Upon graduation, he headed south of the border to Wayne.State University to
study sociology and criminal
justice, then back to.Canada where.he worked.pn his ,M:astyrs in education at the University of Windsor. Further postgraduate studies were completed at York University. Mr. Bracey has enjoyed his time at CCI and when asked what he liked best about the Wood, he replied that he loved those school colours! He has big plans for his retirement. He wants to become an architect and built huge skyscrapers. However, in the meantime, he'll start small and workon his cottage on Manitoulin Island. He also plans to travel- to Namibia in Africa where he will just laze around and pretend that he is Ernest Hemingway. Mr. Bracey- Ernest Hemingway lazed around in Cuba! His response?
