f you are convicted of an npaired driving offence , ·ou will face a number of
penalties which can include:
laving a criminal record, "ines from $600- $2,000, imprisonment (the maximum penalty for causing death is life in prison) and a Court ban from driving any type of
'ehicle for a minimum of I to 3 years. In-dividuals ~;ith multiple offences or those convicted of mpaired driving causing death could face up to a lifetime ban.
The only thing that reduces the effects of
alcohol is time.
4 Canadians are killed each day and 190 Canadians are injured each day due to crashes involving alcohol or drugs
