Traveling around the world and experiencing cultures vastly different from our own allows us as individuals to appreciate the fact that the world is truly a wonderful and special place, full of richness and energy. Since the beginning of time, humans have explored unchartered territories, venturing from the comforts of their own surroundings to seek out new places to explore and call home. Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus, and Ferdinand Magellan are but a few of the world famous exploers who ventured well beyond their surroundings to discover the world that we know today.
Collingwood Collegiate is also home to its own crew of weary adventure seeking, adrenaline junky explorers. From the far corners of the world, these CCI students have seen parts of the globe that many people only dream of one day doing. There is nothing more exhilarating than being in an unfamilar territory with nothing but a sturdy back pack, a Lonely Planet's travel guide, and a rugged pair of shoes, going simply where ever the wind blows. If there is such a word as freedom, this surely has to be it. But don't just take our word for out. What are ou waiting for. The world in all of its wonderous glory awaits you!
Left: John Chakravati poses in front of the Great Pyramids in Giza, Egypt. Constructed in 2570 BC, it is the only remaining seven wonders of the
ancient world still standing. There
are many scientific conjectures as to how the Egyptians managed to build this architectural wonder. One thing is certain though, people who have
visited this spiritual site all agree that this is one wonder that must be experienced in person. John gives this place two unaminous thumbs up!
