As a final tribute to Mr. Spencer, we are establishing a graduating scholarship in his name that will help music students be able
to pursue their studies at the post secondary institute of their choosing. This scholarship was created to set up a lasting memory and recognition of Mark that will continue year after year.

"I've always considered myself to be one of the luckiest persons to be best friends with Mark for the past 25 years, all the way back to our first meeting in University. T o have a friend for that long is wonderful in and of itself. But to also have the pleasure of working with him day in and day out; now that was truly amazing! And what a great time we had together! There wasn't a day that went by where I wasn't amazing by his talent, and his genuine love of music. He shared this joy freely with all of us, and together we were drawn to him like moths to a flame. It never really needed to be said, but all of us knew we were in the midst of someone very rare and very special. How sad we are to have lost him. But how lucky we were to have known such a great man; Mark was a true inspiration that taught us all how to live and love life to the fullest!"
—Kevin Hamlin (Best Friend of Mark Spencer)

"I had the pleasure of knowing Mark as a colleague, as an administrator and as a friend. H e was one of the finest teachers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and always saw the positive in people and in all situations. There was always some way to make things work. Mark was a talented musician and he loved to share those talents with everyone and anyone. You always knew that you were in for a treat when he picked up a guitar or sat down at a keyboard. Name a song and Mark would play it for you. We go through life and meet all kinds of people. Some we know will change our lives. Mark was one of those people. His memory is indelibly etched in our hearts."
