          Volleyball has lon8 been a compelil ive and fun-filled sport played by many of C.C.!.'s male alhleles. In lhe !ale 1940's. lhe boys spenl Tuesday ni8hls playin8 inlerform 8ames and by Lhe 1950's. players for lhe &nior '!'earn were chosen afler lhe inlerform season. The 1951-52 learn did exceptionally well when Lhey won lhe Ceor8ian Bay Championships and the O ntario 'B' & hool Championships. Durin8 Lhe 1957-58 season. bolh Lhe Junior and & nior '!'earns played in a toumamenl in OriUia. The only win by either Learn was when our Juniors defeated Lhe & niors. /\s part of lhe Ceor8ian Bay &condary & hool Association (CM6/\) startin8 in the 1960's. the boys were only allowed Lhe opportuni- ty to play in one tournament per season for the foUowin8 decade. C.C.!. hosted its' first tournament in 1965 and unfortunately. Lhe & niors were defeated in Lhe finals. '!'he Juniors faced a similar problem in the nexl year. In the 1967-68 season. lhe Juniors
brou8hl home the Championship while the & niors repeated hislory and were a8ain defeated in the ftnal round.
The decade oflhe 1970's brou8hl Lhe ad- dition of a third team Lo Lhe sport. Initially lhe Learns were lermed lhe 'Juniors·. 'ln- Lermediales'andlhe'& niors·.bulaflerone year. it was chan8ed lo the 'Mid8els'. lhe 'Juniors· and the '& niors·. /\lso during this decade. zone play-offs and a CM6/\ Cham- pionship Tournament were added. '!'he new Intermediate Team of 1969-70 had a clever member. Qick McCutcheon. who commented on their final 8ame a8ainst Barrie Central in the CBloumamenl.
